Join us for Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap": November 20-21 at AHS

It’s murder pure and simple in this drawing-room comedy. The drama unfolds at Monkswell Manor, where 8 total strangers find themselves snowed in among reports that a murderer is on the loose. Trapped in the guesthouse – with no means of contacting the outside world – they find that no one is quite what they seem. Everyone has secrets. One of them is a killer. The question is, who is the guilty party?
Thursday, November 12 is an A day

Students that have classes on an A/B cycle will return to "A-day" classes on Thursday.

Parents, staff and members of the public are invited to attend these sessions, which will result in a presentation and recommendations to the Board later this winter.

Welcome to Appoquinimink High School, home of the Jaguars!

I am very excited about the upcoming year. It is the sixth anniversary for our school (which opened in 2008) and also marks my sixth year as an administrator at AHS.

During that time, we’ve grown from a community of 1,050 learners to nearly 1,600. We have experienced success in the classroom and earned recognition in the arts, sports and numerous co-curricular organizations. Twice, we have been selected by the College Board for the National AP Honor Roll (2012, 2014), and this year we were named one of the nation’s top high schools by U.S. News & World Report.

Achievement, Honor and Service are the mission of AHS and we attempt to promote this every day in every way. I am looking forward to continuous advancement of this mission with the AHS students, staff, parents and community.

Please look forward to be on the lookout for our “Welcome Back” newsletter at the beginning of August. It will contain important information to help with the transition back to school.

In the meantime, please have a safe and relaxing summer.

Keisha Brinkley
